Director's Note:

After Bombaiyer Bombatay (The Bombay Bandit), an adventure thriller for children, I needed a change of pace. So I chose Nishijapon (After the night…dawn), a personal favourite. Nishijapon, written by well-known Bengali novelist Narayan Ganguly, is a gripping psychological drama about a close-knit family whose relationships disintegrate after an earthquake.

Making the film was an invigorating experience. I had a stellar cast, a lovely location, a dedicated unit and an ideal producer. What more could a filmmaker ask for?
